I did not have many finishes this year, but I am proud of what I have finished!
My biggest finish this year was my scrappy trip around the world quilt.
You can see more posts about this quilt, here and here.
I also finished my scrappy log cabin quilt that I gave to my Aunt Ginny.
You can read about that quilt here.
We can't forget my Drunkard's Path Quilt! You can read about that one here.
My next two are small projects, but still firsts for me!
A coin purse! I need to make more of these!
I also made some mug rugs. I need to make more of these also!
This sums up my 2015 finishes!
Quilting and sewing is so much fun!
Have a happy new year everyone!

A Final Finish for 2015
I finally have a finished pillow for my bed!
Two years ago, before I moved to MO, my friend from quilt retreat, Mary Lou, gave me a wonky log cabin block. She said the cat reminded her of me. I decided to make a throw pillow out of it since it matched my scrappy trip along quilt I was working on.
I had an extra block from my quilt. I took the block apart and used the strips to put around the block to make it the right size for my pillow form. I did all of this before spring when I finished my quilt. I have been meaning to join the FMQ quilt along over at quiltshopgal . With my surgery this summer and school, I never got around to FMQing it.
I finally finished it today!I put on my toesie socks and penguin pj's and worked on my treadle.
I had a lot of help!
Unfortunately, after sitting, neglected, for months, my tension was all wonky. I used up small bobbins, rather then wasting thread. I figure no one was going to see the back anyways. It took longer to rip out seams then it did to quilt!
I used some yellow fleece for the back, I love soft pillows! I made the back envelope style. I used my featherweight and serger for this part.
I liked practicing a new technique on a pillow rather then a quilt. It is a jester hat motif, option 1 in the challenge.
I am so happy with my pillow, it makes me smile!
You can check out the linky for this party here: http://quiltshopgal.com/2015-free-motion-quilting-challenge-december-challenge-with-wendy-sheppard-and-grand-prize-info/
Tomorrow I need to put elastic in some skirts and make a coin purse, not to mention working on my husband's quilt. It took all day yesterday to get my sewing room back in order so that I could sew! Since I worked out my tension issues today, it should be a breeze to finish up his quilt!
I enjoyed making my first pillow, I need to make more!

Merry Christmas!
Have a very merry Christmas everybody! We went to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO for a couple of days this week. We only live an hour away, but we decided to stay a couple of nights in Branson.
I love wearing Christmas sweaters. When I saw this tree display, I had to take my picture with it!This is my "let's take another picture!" look, and Chris's "another one?" look. LOL
We watched the musical "It's A Wonderful Life". It was really funny, and as usual, I cried at the end. Chris smooched me when I tried to take this selfie. LOL
We also watched the musical "A Christmas Carol".
Standing in line, waiting for the plays, was the perfect opportunity to take selfies.
We also took a carriage ride pulled by this donkey.
Isaiah 9:6 "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
Luke 2:
7." And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 ¶ And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger."
Have a very merry Christmas!

Feline Friday
Baby, it's cold outside!
We were super shocked to Pippi sleeping on Oreo. She is usually beating up on him. LOL
We are now on Christmas break and it is starting to get chilly. When it gets cold the cats start to cuddle on the bed for warmth.

Coin Purse
I finally bought a clasp to make a coin purse a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday I made my first coin purse. I need to find a better pattern to follow though.
I fussy cut the big rose for the front of the coin purse,
To keep it real: My corners where the latch bends, are not sewn very well and are a mess. I tried reinforcing them by hand stitching them. The tutorial I found said to glue the top into the clasp to hold it while I sewed it on. Not only did the glue make a mess, but as it dried, it made it very difficult to push the needle through. I was thinking of maybe seeing if my binder clips would work to hold the material in place while I sew it onto the clasp. If you have a pattern you like to use, please share it with me! My friend, Clarissa, asked me to make her one! LOL
Thanks!

Finished Blocks
I was determined to finish the quilting on my husband's quilt before working on anything else. After three months of working at the school and not doing any quilting, I finally realized that I can't quilt unless I have a whole day to sit and concentrate on it.
However, I can piece my blocks here and there. I moved a hand crank sewing machine into the living and have a block to work on anytime I have an extra five minutes.
This is the block I made for Trish for the Sew Sweet Bee. When I saw my bowtie material, I knew I needed to make a bow tie block with it. She asked for a sampler quilt.
I received another Sew Sweet Bee block for my quilt. This one was from Erin.
Oreo had to say hi.
I made two more single wedding ring quilt blocks for my quilt. The lighting was terrible, so you cannot the colors very well.
I hope you have a great weekend!Missy
