Pets On Quilts Show

I am so excited!  Today is the Pets on Quilts Show at Lily Pad Quilting!  I join in the party every year(with seven cats I still have not used them all!)
You can join the party at this link Quilt Show I am entering the Cats On Quilt category!
Today Tater is going to be the star of the show!  She has been through so much in her short life!  Someone dumped a pregnant cat at my friends house who is highly allergic to cats.  The mom cat had two kittens, one died and then she abandoned Tater.
My friend's little girl tried to take care of her by herself for six weeks out in the cold weather.  We went to my friend's house and when I saw this poor kitten I had to take her home!  She had fleas, worms, and her poor ears had "An aural (ear) haematoma is a collection of blood similar to a large blood blister which results from a rupture of a blood vessel in the ear. The collection of blood usually occurs between the skin and cartilage on the inner side of the ear." which has left her ears scarred.
Isn't this the saddest kitten you ever saw in your life?

She is now very spoiled and happy!  She still has a "sad look" but is very happy!  I think the sad look is because her whiskers droop.  My other cats have taught her how to use the litter box, what "treats" means, and how to play.  Most importantly they have taught her what love is and what it is like to have family.
The voting opens up in ten days, I hope you will vote for Tater!  If you want to enter the contest, read the rules at this link!
What kind of pets do you have?

Feline Friday

I have some random cat pictures for you and some updates on Tater.  She is doing a lot better, her ears still have some swelling and I think will be permanently scarred.  She is very hyper and smart and is picking up all of the bad habits and learning from my other six cats.  She is constantly watching them.

Tater likes to bite and scratch and when she starts doing that we give her her frog to bite and scratch instead.

Here is another picture of my village, not anything fancy just what I have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores.  Oreo is under the piano bench.  Next to Oreo is the Nativity that my Mom cross stitched for me.

I put the cat collar on Tater as a skirt, it was so cute!
I haven't had any time to sew, I hope to change that today.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Feline Friday on quilts

I get colder than my husband at night, so I have the regular quilt on the bed and then I put the barn quilt for my side of the bed.  I have a king size bed so my barn quilt would be perfect for a full size or twin size bed.  The cats love it though.

Muffin is the only cat who would let me put the hat on him, he is so easy going.

Pippi and Boots love each other!
Custard is like, "are you serious?"
 Tiger wanted under the quilt.
This has been Pippi's pillow since she was four weeks old, she would sleep there with my hand on her to make sure she did not wake up and have to go potty.  She still loves this pillow.  You can see some of the back of the barn quilt.

Have a great weekend ya'll!

Cupcake the Calico Cat on the Cake Quilt

I love to bake, quilt, and cats!  When we got the kittens four years ago, we named them Oreo, Custard, and Cupcake.  Cupcake loves my cake quilt.
This first picture is my entry for the Pets on Quilts Show.
I am entering the Cats on Quilts category.
I told her I needed to take pictures of her on the quilt, so she posed for me, but first had to attack the quilt.
I have not finished the border on this quilt yet, but the cats have really enjoyed sleeping on it!
I got the cake blocks from blogging friends in the Sew Sweet Bee.  I wanted to combine my love of baking and decorating cakes with quilts and asked everyone for a cake block.  They are all different!

See the yellow cake block with the red heart that Cupcake is showing off?  That is the block Renee from Sewn with Grace made me.  It is very special because she passed away a couple of months ago.  I will think of her every time I look at it.  We never met face to face but she was a very sweet lady.
Pippi is in the background and wants on the quilt too, but she does not like to share,

 Cupcake was hogging the spotlight!
Squeeky snuck onto the quilt for a moment!
Here are the rest of the cats, the only one missing is Custard.  Yes, I have seven cats!
I have a sewing room, but my machines still end up in the living room.  Did I mention all of my quilting are done on treadle sewing machines?

The voting will begin in ten days, August 21, so be sure to vote for your favorite, which I hope is Cupcake!  Don't forget to check out all the other blog posts at Lily Pad Quilting!
