May Goals

Wow, it is already May and time to set some new goals!
I am going to my first ever quilt retreat this month, so I'm hoping to get a lot done!
I need to make more blocks for my Scrappy Trip Along quilt, I've not had much time for making blocks lately.
I want to get everything cut out for a baby quilt for my step brother's baby.  He is a surprise baby.
I am thinking of this quilt, what do you think?  She does not have a theme for the nursery.  I might change my mind though.  It comes from the book Sugar Sack Quilts by Glenna Hailey.  It is called "Sail Away".

Someone gave me some material that will be great for the border.  It is white with red sail boats!  I'm hoping to get started sewing on it at the quilt retreat.
I also want to finish a rag quilt for my nephew's Christmas present.  He just turned 17.  I am making it out of denim and flannel, I have the flannel cut out, I just need to cut out the denim.  That will be my finish for the month.
I also need to get my niece's great granny square quilt basted.

So my goals are 1. to get baby quilt cut out.  2.  Finish rag quilt  and 3.  baste the great granny square quilt

Of course I have other things I might and might not get to, like the 3 summer dresses for my niece, I've had the material since January.  A jumper for me, I've had the material and pattern for at least a year.  Barn blocks and bowtie blocks.  Enough to keep me busy for a while!
For those of you wanting the pattern for my sewing tool caddy from yesterday's post, I added a link at the end of the post.  http://missyscakesandaprons.blogspot.com/2013/04/sewing-tool-caddy.html
Do you like setting goals for the month?

I love the sail boat pattern; perfect for baby. Sounds like some reasonable goals..I need to take a lesson from you on that:)

I love, love, love the Sugar Sack Quilts book. I read it from cover to cover on a trip a few years back. I kept looking at the fabrics shown and thinking, I have that one, and that one, wonder if I can find that one anywhere, and... Anyone who loves '30s repros NEEDS to get a copy of this book.
