Flying Dutchman Block

Here is the block I made for this month's Sew Sweet Bee.  It was actually easier to make then it looks!
Alanna from The Merry Homemaker wanted a flying Dutchman quilt block.  I have decided to go ahead and make two blocks each month so that I can keep one for a sampler quilt to remember all of the blocks I make!
I had my husband move the treadle by the fire in the living room, it is freezing in my sewing room!  We have been off school all week due to snow so I have been quilting all week!
This is how the kitties are keeping warm!  During the night Pippi had crawled under the top blanket at the edge of the bed. (I felt her there when I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night) I picked her u and put her under the covers by me to help me stay warm!  LOL
I hope you are staying warm wherever you are!

Nice blocks. Hear that you're in for snow and ice now. Sorry. Stay warm.

I really like this block and I see it, it looks complicated but it would not be. It sure is cold everywhere. I imagine you got this freezing rain/sleet/ice that we did overnight? It shut down highways 44 and 70 in several spots. we're hunkering down at home. My husband has sort of a long lull in his job so I asked him to refurbish my treadle and will show him your blog if he has questions plus the treadle on site. I'm looking forward to trying it out.

How nice to have a cozy fire to stitch beside. Hope you enjoy your Snow/Sew Days. I am sorry we haven't have many this year in Washington State. I really don't need an excuse to have a sew day at my house. I'm an empty nester.

How lucky that you can move the treadle over to the fire - it looks like it would be my fav place this time of year!!! And I just find kitties under covers to be sooooo adorable =^..^=
